January 15, 1961
Based on the novel by Leon Uris on the founding of the state of Israel, it is screened at the Majestic Theatre. Outside, American Nazi party leader George Lincoln Rockwell and a single follower, both wearing khaki uniforms and swastikas, protest the movie, surrounded by 2,000 counter-demonstrators. Rockwell and the other man are subsequently taken into protective custody by police, driven to Logan Airport, and put on a flight to Washington, D.C.
